Slanted and Enchanted, one of the greatest albums in the history of rock music, was released 20 years ago today. I can honestly say that it’s one of my favorite things in the history of the world and that few things resonate as deeply for me. “Trigger Cut” gets to the essence of the record - “electricity and lust,” “tricks are everything to me,” “the truth I made for you because it’s just as good.” Malkmus made another world in this record, and I’ve been wanting to live there since I was 13.
